Stockholm-based Note Design Studio is a shot of energy on the Scandinavian design scene. Founded in 2008, the award-winning studio has attracted attention both for its work and for its multidisciplinary, do-it-together spirit, reminiscent of the avant-garde design collectives of the 1960s. The ambition is to create the perfect conditions for creativity and the courage to realise unorthodox ideas. For Note, intuition matters – it’s about listening closely to the emotional chord an idea strikes and daring to follow it.
Supersoft, Supersolid, Figurine, Area, Persimon & Mono are some of the products that is designed by NOTE.
Note’s work is sometimes flamboyant, sometimes restrained, but always refreshingly straightforward. These are pieces of furniture that stay on message. If a sofa is called Supersoft, it is not merely soft – it is exceptionally soft and deeply comfortable.
That Note is a studio that celebrates diversity in every sense – disciplinary as well as aesthetic — is evident in its furniture. The common thread is an attitude rather than a specific style. These are pieces that follow the idea all the way through, often containing an element of surprise. Kristoffer Fagerström, designer at Note, explains that at heart they want to create furniture that becomes family heirlooms. This is not only about durability in a material sense, but also about character. Such furniture does more than simply confirm expectations – it also contains a touch of the unexpected.
Fogia has collaborated with Note since 2013. Note has been closely involved in Fogia’s development into the company it is today – a furniture maker that brings together contemporary design and true craftsmanship.

A deeply comfortable, indulgent sofa, with volumes so generous that it almost becomes a soft room of its own – a place where you can sit or lie however you please.

Grande is a generous, rustic multi-purpose table in solid oak, designed to be at the centre of everyday life. It works just as well in the home as in the office, studio, public spaces, and hotels. Its influences come from several directions: Japan, Scandinavia, and perhaps most notably American Shaker design, with its emphasis on functionality, harmony, uncompromising quality, and craftsmanship.
