Materials are never neutral. They carry weight, memory, and a certain way of behaving.

Wood & metal

At Fogia, we work with both solid wood and veneer, often sourced from forests close to our factory. Proximity matters – not only for practical reasons, but because it allows us to understand the material and work with it on its own terms.

Choosing timber is not simply a question of quality, but of suitability. Each species brings its own character. Beech, lighter and more yielding, lends itself to structural frameworks. Oak, denser and more resistant, is well suited to tabletops and components that are meant to endure.

Wood is a living material, even after it has been shaped. Its grain, density, and tone vary from piece to piece. We see this not as a limitation, but as a defining quality – something that gives each object its own presence.

Each component is carefully finished to protect the surface while preserving its tactile qualities. Run your hand across it and you will notice the difference.

With time and use, the material continues its journey. Proper care simply allows it to age well.
