A table can begin with a function. Or it can begin with a material. Kern starts with stone – not as something to shape, but something to understand. In its lower form, it settles close to the ground, creating a steady surface within reach of seating.

A Stockholm-based designer, with a distinct voice that remains recognizable across disciplines — from carpets, glass and cutlery to hand-carved bowls and furniture. Represented in the permanent collection of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, and with exhibitions at MoMA in New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
