About
Some objects are placed on a table. Others are gathered within it. Designed by Andreas Engesvik, Bowl brings storage and surface together in a single gesture, creating a place for the things you keep close. In its larger version, it offers a more generous volume, allowing objects to collect and form a changing composition within the room. The design is centred around the idea of containment. A gently curved bowl rests within a clear structure, allowing objects to collect rather than simply be placed. What is stored becomes visible, and in doing so, takes on a different role within the room.

A designer is someone who looks at the world of objects with curiosity, seeking to understand how things work, while also noticing what is missing and what could be improved. This curiosity is clearly seen in Andreas Engesvik’s work. He explores new ways of approaching materials and making use of their properties – always with a strong focus on what it is like to use and live with the furniture he creates. Take Bollo, for example – a bold piece of furniture, certainly, yet at the same time a pleasure to sit in. A little like a slightly eccentric outfit that fits perfectly, making you feel both comfortable and special at once.
