With Supper, several of Andreas Engesvik’s characteristic qualities as a designer become clearly apparent. Here we find visual lightness, precision craftsmanship, and the perfect balance between the materials: oak veneer and steel. The detailing is of the highest class. Note in particular the gently rounded edge of the tabletop and the understated contrast between the steel legs and the oak tabletop. This is a perfect table to gather around for conversation and socialising. Round tables, after all, have the advantage of bringing people closer together.

A designer is someone who looks at the world of objects with curiosity, seeking to understand how things work, while also noticing what is missing and what could be improved. This curiosity is clearly seen in Andreas Engesvik’s work. He explores new ways of approaching materials and making use of their properties – always with a strong focus on what it is like to use and live with the furniture he creates. Take Bollo, for example – a bold piece of furniture, certainly, yet at the same time a pleasure to sit in. A little like a slightly eccentric outfit that fits perfectly, making you feel both comfortable and special at once.
