Lyra Lounge Chair
Lyra captures the feeling of sinking into softness, where generous cushions meet a structure that gently holds the body.
About
The feeling of throwing yourself down into a pile of cushions – that is the ambition behind the Lyra Lounge Chair from Fogia and designer Andreas Engesvik. A pursuit of comfort without compromise. At the same time, the piece is defined by precise design, beautiful materials, and excellent craftsmanship. The Lyra Lounge Chair likely has everything required to become the favourite seat in the home. Pair it with the Lyra Ottoman to further enhance comfort. Lyra Lounge Chair clearly demonstrates that there is no conflict between aesthetics and comfort. Here, designer Andreas Engesvik together with Fogia’s craftspeople has created an armchair you both long to sink into and enjoy furnishing with. Much of this comes from the contrast between its soft, undulating forms and sharply defined legs.

Good design often begins with curiosity. How does something work? And what happens when you approach a familiar object from a different direction? For Andreas Engesvik and Jannicke Grung, the designers behind Oslo-based studio Grung Engesvik, these questions are part of an ongoing conversation. Their work explores materials, construction and everyday use, bringing different perspectives together through experimentation and craftsmanship. The ambition is to create objects that people will enjoy using, caring for and keeping.
