Lyra Ottoman
Lyra clearly demonstrates that there is no conflict between aesthetics and comfort, nor between elegance and generous volume.
About
The feeling of throwing yourself down into a pile of cushions — that is the ambition behind the Lyra furniture family from Fogia and designer Andreas Engesvik. These are pieces that make no compromise whatsoever when it comes to comfort, and the Lyra Ottoman exists to enhance that comfort even further. The ottoman is composed in the same way as the armchairs in the family, with an exceptionally soft cushion resting on a canvas seat wrapped around a slender steel tube frame. Lyra clearly demonstrates that there is no conflict between aesthetics and comfort, nor between elegance and generous volume. Here, designer Andreas Engesvik together with Fogia’s craftspeople has created furniture that you both long to sink into and enjoy furnishing with — much thanks to the contrast between the soft, undulating forms and the sharply defined legs.

The designer / Andreas Engesvik
A designer is someone who looks at the world of objects with curiosity, seeking to understand how things work, while also noticing what is missing and what could be improved. This curiosity is clearly seen in Andreas Engesvik’s work. He explores new ways of approaching materials and making use of their properties – always with a strong focus on what it is like to use and live with the furniture he creates. Take Bollo, for example – a bold piece of furniture, certainly, yet at the same time a pleasure to sit in. A little like a slightly eccentric outfit that fits perfectly, making you feel both comfortable and special at once.
