Simon Klenell & Kristoffer Sundin
Simon Klenell and Kristoffer Sundin bring together two distinct design practices, connected by a curiosity for materials and how things are made. Both educated at Konstfack in Stockholm, they share a close understanding of craft while approaching it with the possibilities of contemporary production in mind. Their collaborative work moves between experimentation and precision, allowing material, construction and process to shape the outcome.

Klenell is known particularly for his work in glass, exploring qualities such as transparency, distortion and optical layering. Sundin’s background in furniture and product design brings another perspective, with a close attention to construction, proportion and how objects are used. Their collaboration brings these different ways of thinking together.
This meeting of perspectives can be seen in Big Sur, designed for Fogia. The table series plays with scale, weight and balance, bringing generous surfaces together with clearly expressed structural elements. There is something almost graphic about its proportions: substantial without feeling heavy, precise without becoming rigid.
Across their work together, material and construction are not simply details to be resolved at the end of the process. They are part of where the ideas begin. The result is furniture in which the way something is made remains present in the way it looks, feels and functions.
