Whitworth Locke

  • Location / Manchester, UK

Whitworth Locke is a 160 room hotel with a bar, cafe, lounge and co-working space situated in Manchester. An adaptive reuse project, New York architects Grzywinski+Pons paid specific attention to the building’s heritage status as a part of the city’s industrial past.

While the brickwork of its facade is workmanlike and utilitarian, inside the hotel springs to life; colourful twists of material and textural details energising the spaces.

The firm specified tone on tone grey Bollo Lounge chairs in the communal spaces, providing a strong backdrop for the rich green and yellow accents to pop against.
